These are the questions owners ask most often before working with us, from cost and contracts to what happens to your accounts if we part ways. The short answers are above; the sections below add context on the four topics that come up most.

Frequently asked questions

How much will this cost?

We don't publish prices, because each engagement is scoped to one problem. You start with a complimentary, confidential consultation with a senior partner, then receive a written proposal with the fee. Canadian clients add 5% GST.

Do we have to sign a long contract?

Length, payment schedule and how either side can end the engagement are written into your proposal before you agree. Single-problem fixes are usually measured in weeks. Nothing is implied that isn't in writing.

How long until we see a difference?

It depends on the problem. A callback rule can change your missed-call numbers within a couple of weeks; visibility for new residents is clearest around the next building handover. We agree the measure and the review date before starting.

We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

Many agency arrangements sell ongoing activity without a defined problem or a before number. We start by measuring a specific problem from your own records and finish when it's fixed, so you can judge the result directly.

Who owns the accounts, settings and documents?

You do. Profiles, phone settings, ad accounts, spreadsheets and routines are set up in your name or transferred to you. If we stop working together, everything keeps running.

Can you promise more leads or a higher ranking?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. We promise to measure the problem, build the agreed fix and report honestly on what changed.

How do you report on progress?

Briefly and in plain language: the before number, the after number, what we changed and what's next. Usually a one-page summary plus a short call, at the points agreed in the proposal.

Do you work with businesses outside Burquitlam?

Yes. Our focus is Burquitlam and Lougheed, but we work with businesses across Coquitlam and in nearby Burnaby, Port Moody, New Westminster and Port Coquitlam.

Do you do the actual trade work or visit customers?

No. We're consultants. We don't install, repair, inspect or service anything, and we don't visit your customers' homes or buildings.

Can you tell us what a building's strata bylaws allow?

No. We don't give legal advice or interpret bylaws. We help you ask each building the right questions and record the answers so your team follows them consistently.

Are your case studies from businesses like ours?

They're results from our HVAC work, and we say so on every page. They show that the methods work; they aren't evidence of results in plumbing, retail or any other sector.

What if you can't help with our problem?

We'll tell you on the first call. If the problem is outside what we do, such as legal, accounting or trade-technical questions, we'll say so plainly rather than stretch the engagement.

Cost and terms

We don't publish prices, and that's deliberate. A callback routine for a sole operator and a tracking system for a business with six paid sources are very different jobs, and a single number would mislead one of them.

What we do publish is how scope is set. The engagements page lists the three formats we use and the factors that make an engagement larger or smaller. Every proposal states the fee, the timeline and the terms in writing, and Canadian clients add 5% GST.

Results and expectations

We don't promise results we can't control, such as rankings, lead counts or revenue. We do commit to measuring the problem before we touch it and again after the fix, using your own records.

That approach gives you a fair test. If the missed-call share was 28% before and 9% after, you can see it in your phone log without taking our word for anything. Our results page shows the published outcomes from our HVAC work and explains which parts of the method transfer to other businesses.

Ownership and independence

Everything we build is yours. That includes profile settings, phone routing, templates, spreadsheets, automation and the written routine.

Owners who've been burned before often ask about this first, because some providers keep control of profiles or ad accounts. We set things up in your name from the start. If you later hire a marketing agency to run ongoing campaigns, they inherit a clean, documented setup.

Questions specific to this neighbourhood

A few questions come only from owners around Burquitlam and Lougheed. The most common is whether a business on the Burnaby side of North Road is in scope. It is: customers cross the line constantly, and our areas page explains how both sides fit together.

The second is about new buildings. Owners ask whether we know which towers are opening and when. We don't claim inside knowledge. We help you build a calendar from public signals, such as site signage, sales-centre dates and what customers and managers tell your staff, so you can plan visibility work around handovers.

The third is about strata rules. Owners want to know what a given building allows. We can't interpret bylaws, but we can help your office collect each building's answers once and reuse them every time.

Questions about scope

Owners sometimes ask us to take on everything at once: visibility, phones, bookings and tracking together. We usually suggest starting with one. Two fixes launched together make it hard to see which one changed the numbers, and a single success builds the case for the next.

Another common question is whether we replace a marketing agency. Not exactly. We fix a specific problem and hand over a routine. If you want campaigns managed month after month afterwards, an agency is the right partner, and it will inherit a clean setup.

Working with us day to day

We consult in person or by video call and work by phone, text, email and shared screens. You won't need to set aside half-days for meetings; most engagements need a short kickoff call, access to the relevant records, and a few brief check-ins.

If you have a staff member who handles the phones or bookings, we'll want to talk with them too, since they usually know where the problem lives. Their time commitment is small: typically one conversation at the start and a short walkthrough of the new routine at the end. To start, read what to include in your first message, or review the four fixes to see which fits.
